Joshua Roberson, a native Houstonian, has spent his entire life in the city. Born on June 22, 1985, with a congenital disability, Joshua has navigated life with resilience. Despite having an amputated hand and foot, he has persevered. As a child, Joshua sought to find his place, and as a teenager, he began to discover his strengths. Though he faced challenges with depression and stress, Joshua continues to grow and evolve.

As he journeyed through high school, he found himself trapped in a mental prison of his own making. But when he was wrongly accused and incarcerated, he was forced to confront the emotional barriers that had been constraining him. Through this experience, he gained a profound understanding of his own resilience and discovered the strength to overcome his self-imposed limitations.

With a newfound sense of purpose, he's turning his life around after being given a vision by God. Following his release from prison, he put his plan into action and penned 'Leaving the Pain Behind', a book that shares his remarkable story of resilience. As he continues on his path to healing and freedom, he's discovering the power of faith to overcome adversity. And although setbacks still occur, he's learning to break free from the mental chains that once held him back.
